Denise Jorstad, MA, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in the state of Washington (License #LH60390541). She graduated with an MA in Community Counseling from Argosy University in Chicago, IL in 2007. She earned her BA in Sociology from the University of Santa Barbara in 2000. In 2015, she and a colleague started (and continue to maintain) a private practice with a heavy emphasis on case management and supportive counseling working with adults who have severe and persistent mental health diagnoses, including Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder.

She has worked in the mental health field for 25 years providing case management, counseling, and group therapy. She has developed psychosocial programming in various community based outpatient treatment settings for adults with chronic mental health and personality disorder diagnoses and challenges. She is skilled in crisis management and in assisting individuals in developing healthy daily living and symptom management skills.

Some of the therapeutic approaches that guide her treatment include, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, and Systemic Therapy.

She believes that the most successful therapeutic journeys begin with the relationship between the client and the therapist. As such, she collaborates with clients to explore, identify, and achieve individual goals to improve well-being, interpersonal relationships and overall quality of life.
