Marissa L. Michalke, LICSW, SUDP, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (License # LW60804511) and Substance Use Disorder Professional (License # CP60684684). She has been providing therapy services since 2014. Marissa graduated from Eastern Washington University with her Master of Social Work degree and Addiction Studies certificate.

The theoretical orientations guiding Marissa’s therapy include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Existential Therapy. She takes a holistic approach to care by incorporating physical, psychological, and social aspects to cultivate meaningful change.

Marissa fosters collaboration, compassion, curiosity, humor, and clinical creativity within her therapeutic modalities. She believes in tailoring treatment goals to the unique needs and strengths of each individual. Her therapeutic approach encompasses self-empowerment strategies to support clients in actualizing personal growth and resilience.

Marissa specializes in treating adults, including young adults and older adults. She also treats teens. Marissa has an expertise in treating various mental health conditions and personal challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, grief and loss, mood disorders, substance use disorders, suicidality, interpersonal and family dynamic issues, in addition to adjustment and lifestyle management.

Marissa is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She’s a Gig Harbor native and enjoys photography, gardening, and walking her dog Cooper.
